You may be a little too old to trick-or-treat, but you are never too old to have fun!

Last Halloween my husband Kevin and I decided to drive around our neighborhoods to see all the Halloween costumes and houses that were decorated. While we were driving the idea of a costume scavenger hunt popped into my head. I opened the reminders app in my iPhone and we created a list of 17 different costumes we wanted to find. We added common ones like princess and ninja as well as some more rare ones like a crayon and a tree. We mostly drove around the less populated neighborhoods, but when we found a bumpin’ one we parked and walked around. Although at times we felt sketchy, because once we thought we saw a costume on our list we stalked the kid until we knew what they really were, it was a lot of fun.

This was a perfect spur of the moment date night game, but I think it could be equally as fun for parents to use while they are trick-or-treating with their kiddos. Even making it a competition between sets of couples or friends where they have to get pictures with the kids or adults as proof and whoever gets the most on this list wins.

The best thing about this game is you can customize it to any genre of costumes and it can be as specific (Elsa) or broad (princess) as you want!

Feel free to use the word document I created if you don’t want to make your own!

I would love to hear in the comments what twist you would put on this game or other ways to make trick-or-treating a little more fun for you this year.
